The National Safety Council of Australia is a membership based, not-for-profit organisation concerned with promoting the health and safety of people throughout the community. They aim to achieve this through the provision of training, specialist consulting, seminars and publications. In 1995, an industry commission into work, health and safety found that up to 285,000 persons over the age of 65 are estimated to be suffering from work-related health problems. The NCSA is wanting raise awareness within the community of this problem and as a way of further encouraging work-place safety.
