The National Council of the YMCAs of Australia is a group of diverse, community based associations and part of a world-wide movement dedicated to social justice, peace and equality of opportunity. The YMCAs operate through a unique partnership between volunteers and staff. YMCA's work to put Christian values into practice through programs which nurture the development of all so that each and every one who participates will grow in body, mind and spirit. The membership of the National Council comprises 37 associations. They operate through 205 branches, Child Care Centres, Hostels and camps in every state/territory.
