The Skin and Cancer Foundation is a private, non-profit benevolent organisation dedicated to providing dermatological services, teachings, training, public education and resources. A major focus is skin cancer, a disease of epidemic proportions and one which affects particularly older age brackets. This is an almost entirely preventable disease if exposure to the sun in limited. The Skin and Cancer Foundation is a leading Australian specialist centre for the treatment of and research into skin conditions. The money raised as result of Foundation activities is used to fund research, community and scientific education initiatives and a number of training positions for dermatology registrars.

The Foundation is active in educating doctors and public, training skin specialists, treatment of patients, dermatopathology, involvement in regulatory bodies in Australia and overseas, research and corporate services such as testing and certification for industry.
