Cancer is a disease which affects predominantly the older age group. The Australian Cancer Society exists throughout the States and Territory to provide a range of educational, advisory, and support services to assist cancer patients, their carers and family to cope with the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation or palliative care aspects of cancer. The Society is organising a major national conference in July 1999 to focus on the support required by persons living with cancer. The conference "Cancer - We Care" will be held in Sydney on 12-16 July 1999.
