National Centre for Ageing & Sensory Loss

7 Mair Street

BRIGHTON BEACH VIC 3188

Many people living in aged care facilities have a vision and/or hearing loss which adversely affects their daily activities. Therefore training staff in understanding age-associated vision and hearing conditions, their impact on people's lives and practical techniques is important. The National Centre for Ageing and Sensory Loss offers education and training programs which address late onset sensory loss and associated disabilities. These programs provide strategies to promote maximum independence for individuals. They also offer training specifically designed for aged care personnel in residential services. In addition, they design customised training packages for a range of organisations and government departments.
