Deafness Forum of Australia is the peak body for deafness in Australia. Established in early 1993, it represents all interests and viewpoints of Australians who are deaf, have a hearing impairment, or have a chronic disorder of the ear. There are approximately 150,000 deaf people in Australia, and between 1-3 million people experience some form of acquired hearing impairment or deafness. The Forum has approximately 350 members comprising national, state/territory, regional and local groups.
