Churches of Christ Department of Community Care has committed itself to work towards a new Aged Care Strategy. This strategy includes a commitment to the highest standards o building facilities within the shortest timetable possible, broadening the range of services in response to community needs and commitment to ensuring access to our services by older people who are financially disadvantaged.

Each residential facility will develop its own special program during 1999. These programs will be focussed upon activities that are meaningful and will be designed to enhance an older person's quality of life. Included in the staff training will be focus on improving staff knowledge on issues of dignity, respect, privacy and freedom of choice. The department's overall commitment is to work with elderly persons and to ensure that they have the opportunity to make an active commitment to their overall well-being and welfare.
