Banking on a Business-Community Partnership
The Commonwealth Government of Australia has announced the first of a series of business-community partnerships to improve the lifestyles of older people.
A partnership has been forged between the Australian Bankers Association and five older persons' opganisations with the aim of identifying and addressing issues of concern to older Australians that prevent them from making full use of self-service banking technology including ATMs, EFTPOS, telephone banking and Internet banking.
The older persons' organisations involved in the project are: Association of Independent Retirees Inc., Australian Pensioners & Superannuants Federation, Council on the Ageing, Country Women's Association, National Seniors Association Ltd, and Older Women's Network.
The Australian Coalition '99 network will be kept informed of progress throughout the 12 months of the project.
