"TOWARDS A NEW AGE IN CREATIVITY"

We invite you to develop a print ad or an outdoor poster that promotes an age-friendly society; portrays older people as individuals and not stereotypes; and with messages that are empathic to older people.
The definition of an older person is 50 years and older.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Information on how to enter forms is part of the terms and conditions of entry.

2. Entries close 5.00pm Friday October 8th, 1999

4. Fill out appropriate entry form on this website (agency or tertiary entry) and submit with your entry.

5. Entries submitted on-line require artwork in IBM format as jpg or bmp files.

6. The Open Category is open to all Australian advertising agencies, their employees, freelance consultants and members of the public except for employees and their families of Ad News, Lauda Air, The Leading Hotels of the World, Tag Heuer, White Advertising & Beyond, and Australian Coalition '99.

7. The Tertiary Category is open only to students or classes of students of media, advertising, marketing, graphic design and communications currently enrolled at tertiary institutions.

8. Artwork will not be returned.

9. There is no limit to the number of entries that can be submitted in either category by one entrant. Each entry must be accompanied by a separate and completed entry form.

10. The winners and runners' up entries will be published in Ad News on Friday 22nd October.

11. Selected entries will be posted on this site prior to the close of competition. Australian Coalition '99 reserves the right to promote the winning entries to the Australian community as part of the International Year of Older Persons until 30 April 2000.

12. The Judging Panel comprises: Rob Belgiovane, Creative Director, Belgiovane Williams Mackay; David Blackley, Chairman, Clemenger, Melbourne; Paul Fishlock, Creative Director, Brown Melhuish Fishlock; Mike Newman, Creative Director, Saatchi & Saatchi; David Rollins, Creative Director, Sargant Rollins Vranken Terakes; John Warburton, Creative Director, White & Partners; Gawen Rudder, Client Business Resource; John Bevins; Brian Sweeney, Principal, Brian Sweeney & Associates; Ed Charles, Editor, Ad News; Delys Sargeant, Chair, Australian Coalition '99.

13. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

14. Open Category: winning entry receives: two Lauda Air Armadeus business class fares and accommodation staying at two Leading Hotels of the World: Schloss Fuschl and Sacher Hotel in Austria, valued in total at $16,000+ accommodation plus a Tag Heuer watch valued at $3,000.

15. Tertiary Category: the winning student will win a month's work experience at a leading Australian advertising agency. The work experience will be arranged at the mutual convenience of the advertising agency and the student. The student will also receive three years' subscription to Ad News valued at $225.

16. The prizes cannot be transferred to cash.

17. "Towards a New Age in Creativity" is a competition commemorating the International Year of Older Persons, and has been sponsored by: Ad News, Lauda Air, The Leading Hotels of the World, Tag Heuer, White. Advertising and Beyond and Australian Coalition '99, a not-for-profit and non-political coalition of community and business organisations.
