Australian
Book Review,
founded in 1961, is a bona fide non-profit organisation with offices
in Melbourne and Adelaide. Peter Rose is the Editor, and Morag
Fraser is Chairperson of the Board. ABR aims to foster
high critical standards, to publish outstanding new writing and
to preserve due recognition of literary values and a full appreciation
of Australia's literary heritage.
Publishing
a literary review of this kind in a small market is always challenging.
Revenue from subscribers, advertisers and funding bodies is vital,
but to fulfil its work and to broaden its readership and influence
ABR also seeks donations from discerning readers who like
what it does and who share ABR's commitment to literary
values and Australian writing. Accordingly, we seek donations
of any size to complement our Patrons' Programme.
The
Australian Government has approved it as a Deductible Gift Recipient
(DGR). All donations of more than $2 are tax deductible and are
deposited in the Australian Book Review Gift Fund, to which
any donations should be made. Tax receipts are issued promptly.
