Glenelg is the birthplace of South Australia. This vibrant seaside shopping precinct reflects the casual lifestyle and relaxing atmosphere of life by the sea. As a major tourism precinct, Jetty Road is open every day of the year and offers a choice of restaurants, cafes and much more.
Lush parklands and natural beaches provide a retreat from the hustle and bustle.
Nearby, one of our oldest groups in Adelaide is still running. The Glenelg group meets on a Monday night together with Al-Anon and is only a 10 minute walk from the venue.
Other meetings in proximity include the Brighton Beginners and Marion meetings. Check local meetings list for further information.
From Adelaide Airport, the trip to Glenelg is only a 10 minute drive or approximately 30 minutes on the J1 bus.
Pick up your luggage, take the escalator to the top ramp where you will find the yellow bus at Stop 10.
Buses arrive in Moseley Street just near the Stamford.
The purpose of the convention, like that of any AA meeting, is to carry the message of recovery. Many who attend conventions keep coming back for the renewal that this celebration of sobriety brings. There will be big meetings... and there will be one alcoholic talking to another.
The seaside venue, located on absolute beachfront at Glenelg, is just 20 minutes from the city by car, or catch a new tram departing from Victoria Square in the heart of the CBD.
The Stamford provides excellent facilities for meetings and for fellowship.
