This web site began as student project, continued as a hobby, and is definitely a work in progress. Comments, feedback and new information are most welcome. It is not intended to be complete, balanced and objective. Rather, it represents an attempt to convey a unique war story to wider audience, while the protagonists are still alive to answer questions.

The site has largely been based on the book, From Snow to Jungle: A History of the 2/3rd Australian Machine Gun Battalion (published in 1987 by Allen & Unwin Australia), a comprehensive history of the Battalion written by a former Battalion officer, John Bellair.

The site could not have been developed to this stage without a grant from the Department of Veteran Affairs under its 'Their Service, Our Heritage' program. Thanks also to Sharyn Moore for designing the site and for her considerable patience and professionalism.
