West Australian Government Railways used these vehicles permanently coupled to shunting engines. Shunters could ride on the running boards (WAGR didn't fit such to locomotives). The box carried spare hooks for the chopper couplers used by that system.

Adrian Gunzburg's model is scratch built from styrene and is to Sn 3.5 scale, i.e., 1/64" scale, 16.5mm (HO) track.
