| W class workmans' sleeper vans have long been a feature of the VR and
they came in many guises. Those shown on this page represent the purpose
built units, constructed during the first decade of the 19th century. Later,
a variety of obsolete passenger rolling stock was modified and re-classified
to become workmens' sleepers. All models shown below are to HO scale. |

| This bug-hut was shown by Chris Tasker. It is built on an acrylic box
with styrene overlays. The underframe is a modified from a SEM long wheel
base T/U kit. |
 |
| Two more bug huts shown by Geoff Tasker utilise the same construction
method and show variations in design. |
 |
| John McCallum built these two from styrene. The sides and ends were laid
out on a CAD program and printed directly to 0.015 sheeet styrene. This
was scribed and cut out by hand and then laminated onto thicker styrene
sheet. |
