participation upholding the dignity, rights and contribution of
Turkish speaking community.
T urkish Speaking Community Workers Association of Victoria (Australia) is a
"community based" productive, professional, peak organisation. TSCWA works in active partnership with the Turkish speaking
community, service providers,
government departments and the community to
create, develop,maintain and promote culturally and
linguistically appropriate efficient and
accessible social welfare and support services throughout Victoria.
I t is recognised that Turkish Speaking Community Workers Association of Victoria operates in an
increasingly competitive business
environment which requires a more business
oriented approach to our operations.
To promote, maintain and improve social and welfare conditions in Turkish speaking community in Victoria, and undertake all appropriate procedures in achieving this aim.
To promote action oriented research into the social conditions of Turkish speaking community, to advise and report to federal, State and Local governments, other relevant bodies or individuals, and to make recommendations, prepare submissions for the development of appropriate and relevant services and facilities.
To establish a forum in increasing awareness and developing policies in social and welfare rights of the Turkish speaking community in the multicultural context eg. Policy statements, newsletters, open public meetings or conferences.
To have input into policies related to social, welfare issues at national, state and local levels to ensure that needs of the Turkish speaking community are considered.
To provide information to Australian individuals, groups and institutions who need to know more about the needs of Turkish speaking community in Victoria.
To offer advice to organisations who are appointing Turkish social and welfare staff and who may benefit from our assistance in drafting job description and selecting suitable applicants.
To work in partnership with the government and non-government agencies and the community to achieve quality of life for Turkish speaking people in Victoria.
To provide information and support to individuals, families and groups.
