Run 1047, 14 July 2004
Hare: Lethal
Venue: 7&7 Korean Restaurant, 21B Koornang Road, Carnegie
Theme: Has anyone seen Chiko?
When there is a leadership change in an organisation, proceedings do not always run smoothly in the transition period. And this was exactly the case with the first run under the newly formed committee. Unable to enter the restaurant prior to the run and finding ourselves camped on the footpath upon our return. Mr 7&7 obviously thought that the booking was for 8.00pm Korean time.
To pass the time away we relocated to a dimly lit park and formed a pre-dinner circle. The run was described as wiggly, dark and straight. It was noted that the food looked better than last week’s. A brave call as there was no sign of Chiko.
Charges included:
Lethal – the hare who so far has provided us with a run and a promise
of food
Swiss roll – long time returnee
635, Two Bob, Luna & Sly – Melbourne Mens visitors
Lizard, Father and Miss Piggy – late arrivals
SBD, Kokup, Shagadelic, Underfelt, Janus, Klingon and Bovine Breeder
– the committed
Luna – BYO food
Lethal – no food
Special runs – SBD 66 and Clitus 21
Shagadelic for soliciting and 635 for taking the hint
The Boomerang for being or culpable capable leader
635 for leading an unsuccessful coup
Shagadelic for going down on the run
Clitus and Gumboot for standing up Boomer offer of free beer
Punch for stepping in dog shit and being happy about it.
That reminds me of an old Cheech and Chong joke:
Two men are walking along a footpath. One abruptly stops the other and
says:
Is that dog shit?
I don’t know?
Well smell it.
It smells like
dog shit.
Ok, now touch it.
It feels like dog shit.
Ok, now taste it
What?
Taste it.
It tastes like shit.
Lucky that we didn’t stand in it.
Back at the run, with all the charges completed and the time nearing
the witching hour we had to
devise a plan to uproot the locals and finally take over 7&7. Luckily we had two secret weapons – GG and Tangles. The sight of these misfits salivating outside the restaurant sent property values plummeting and the locals fleeing in fear.
Once inside we devoured Chiko cooked six ways washed down with beer.
Or in Father’s case, wine left behind from the previous diners. Smart hashing.
