Autumn
Sesshin with Susan Murphy Roshi Sesshin is a rare chance to experience seven days of silence and meditation, following traditional Zen retreat form. If you have been meditating for a while and feel ready to move into a deeper level of practice, sesshin opens the way -- the ancient Way of steeping yourself in silence, seated and walking meditation, silent work practice, walking and resting in great silence, with interviews with the teacher and Dharma talks to fire your practice. All meals are vegetarian, and part-time attendance is available. Susan Murphy Roshi trained with John Tarrant Roshi, in the lineage of Pacific Zen, and with his Dharma heir Ross Bolleter Roshi, in the lineage of the Diamond Sangha established by Robert Aitken Roshi, receiving transmission in 2001 in both lines, from each of her primary teachers. Further details about the sesshin, including location details and application forms will be made available shortly Melbourne Zen Group organises two seven day sesshin each year, in Spring and Autumn. The sping sesshin is lead by Subhana Barzaghi, and the autumn sesshin is lead by Susan Murphy. The sesshin is usually held at a venue in bush surroundings within 1-2 hours drive from Melbourne.
