New 19/04/09 Victorian Little Athletics Team
Congratulations to Nicola Hancock who had a fabulous State Track and Field and has been selected to represent Victoria in the Victorian Little Athletics team. We wish Nicola the best of luck at the Australian Little Athletics Championships which will be held in Adelaide on 26th April 2009.

This weekend 38 children from our centre went to State Track and Field at Olympic Park. It was the first time for some and the last time for our under 15's Lauren Boyce and Lachlan Thomas. The weather was lovely all weekend so a lot of records were broken. Six Williamstown athletes brought home medals, congratulations to the following athletes:

Louise Mendes U10 Gold Discus, Silver 80m Hurdles
Nicola Hancock U13 Gold Shot Put, Gold Javelin, Bronze Discus
Lauren Boyce U15 Gold Long Jump, Gold Triple Jump
Mitchell Burgess U10 Gold 60m Hudles, Bronze Long Jump
Mark Nicholls U12 Bronze Discus
Patrick Lenagh
U14 Bronze 200m

Congratulations to those who broke the following outside records:

Louise Mendes U10 80m Hurdles 14.16 Louise broke the state record and came 2nd
Nicola Hancock U13 Javelin 37.21m, Discus 31.15m, Shotput 11.06m
Lauren Boyce U15 Triple Jump 11.22m
Mitchell Burgess 70m 9.95 (equal) Mitchell equalled a 33 year old record
Thomas Hardeman U14 Javelin 36.51m
Patrick Lenagh U14 200m 24.25
Lachlan Thomas U15 Javelin 37.25
To all the wonderful parents who did their duties and made the weekend a little bit easier for Craig and myself I just cannot thank you enough. To all the chidren who competed ffour our centre, you were great to watch. You all did your best and I hope you all came away from the weekend feeling you could not have done better and if you could do better, there's always next year

Cross Country
With the our current season drawing to a close why not continue to keep fit over winter by participating in the Cross Country Season. Click here for details.

Tickets (for children to cut out and stick into their performance books) from weeks one, two and three are now available for the Newport and Williamstown Clubs click here to access. Other clubs will distribute tickets to club members.

Any member of the Centre wishing to make formal enquiries about the running of the Centre should address their enquiries to williamstown@vlaa.asn.au Otherwise you can ask general questions at your club table.

Reminders: All children must be in full club uniform by week three or they will not be allowed to compete. Click here for link to the uniform page. Also there is a strict no balls policy at the Athletics Track as they present a serious safety hazard.
