STATEMENT OF PURPOSES

 

1. The name of the Organisation: People Against Drink Driving

  1. OBJECTIVES:
    1. To reduce the harm resultant from drink driving in Australia.
    2. To support educational, organisational and environmental initiatives aimed at reducing the incidence of drink driving in Australia.
    3. To provide support to the families and friends of the victims of drink driving.

These aims shall be achieved by pursuing the following objectives:

    1. Disseminating information about drinking and driving to the public, health and other professionals, policy makers and other relevant bodies and individuals.
    2. Encouraging ongoing research at local, State and Federal levels which examines the impact of drink driving on the community and leads to the formulation of strategies both primary and preventative.
    3. To liaise with individuals and organisations in the community who are committed to a reduction in the incidence of drink driving in Australia and to facilitate the provision of an integrated and co-ordinated approach to achieve this end.
    4. To offer support and assistance as may be deemed necessary from time to time to individuals who have been directly affected by a drinking driver and by encouraging those individuals to participate in the activities of the organisation.
    5. To co-operate and act jointly with persons or bodies so far as is necessary for the performance of the organisation’s functions.

3. POWERS:

The Association has the power to do all such things as are necessary, incidental or conducive to the attainment of the association.
