Established in 1984 as part of Victoria's 150th Celebrations, the Centre houses a collection of photographs, newspapers, books, maps, oral history recordings, local records and ephemera relating to the former Shire of Walpeup, now the southern part of the Mildura Rural City Council.
The Centre is operated by volunteers who can provide assistance with accessing the collection.
The Courthouse is shared with Mallee Tourism and the Mallee Genealogical Society.
The Genealogical Society meets on the third Thursday of the month and has a collection of genealogical records. The Society can be contacted on (03) 5092 1087 or (03) 5092 1549.
