Oakleigh City Band - Aims
City Band wishes to:
- Promote the enjoyment of brass band music
- Maintain a spirit of welcome and encouragement for all members
- Provide training in musicianship, brass instrument, percussion and marching techniques
for members young and not so young
- Serve the community via the provision of music at formal civic and ceremonial occasions
- Provide opportunities for members to entertain the community in less formal settings
such as concerts, festivals, fetes etc.
- Raise performance standards of the Band by participation in brass band eisteddfods
and contests.
- Build commitment to and pride in the Band amongst its members and the community
