Born in Melbourne. Lived and worked in Central Australia in 1966-67.

Studied drawing at the National Gallery Art School, under Ian Armstrong, 1960-61.
Studied oil painting under Shirley Bourne at the Victorian Artists' Society during 1969-73.

Affiliations:
Painted and exhibited with the "Seven Painters" group in the 1970s, centering around Eltham.
Elected a Fellow of the Victorian Artists' Society for contribution and services to the Arts.
Member of the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors. 
Member of the Chelsea Arts Club, London.
In 1990, by invitation, joined "The Twenty Melbourne Painters Society Inc."

Held first solo exhibition in 1974 at the Rosalind Humphries Galleries, Melbourne.

Awards:
Has received commendations for work in mixed exhibitions from judges including Sir William Dargie, Louis Kahan, Elwyn Lynn and Fred Williams.

In 1984, was awarded the Alice Bale Art Travelling Scholarship, and was based in London during 1984-85, visiting art galleries in the UK and Europe to observe and relate to own art experience.

In private, civic and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.

Paints directly from nature and life. Keeps subject-range varied, although particularly enjoys movement and the changing situations en plein air.

Conducts critiques for art societies and judges exhibitions.

Teaches oil painting and drawing at the Malvern Artists' Society. Artist in Residence and teacher of oil painting at "Montsalvat", Eltham.
