Kew Traffic School

The Kew Traffic School was founded in 1954 by the then Kew Lions Club which became the Boroondara City Lions by joining with Hawthorn Lions Club. The members that did the groundwork were Jim Douglas and Bert Stevens. Kew Council handled the bookings and mowed the grass. The Victoria Police supplied the Instructor.

This arrangement worked well until recent times. The Victoria Police withdrew the Instructor due to a shortage of manpower. Boroondara City Lions have worked with the Council to arrange a resumption of training. We hope to have an instructor available at the start of the third school term.

As many thousands of children have learnt about traffic at this school, we would like your financial assistance to keep it going.

The following photo's show some of the school.
