> ishah is a free quarterly magazine focussing on contemporary issues facing Christian women.

We believe that the role of women in our society is more challenging than ever before. The media tells us - and our own experience confirms - that the competing demands of work, family life, marriage, study, maintaining relationships and pursuing personal interests make for busy and stressed women.

It is important for us to be confident to live a godly life in the midst of a secular society and to engage with current debates about issues. We aim to produce in-depth, thoughtful and challenging responses to contemporary and everyday issues from an explicitly Biblical perspective.

An issue of ishah may contain features, interviews, personal interest pieces, book and film reviews, a write of reply section and ‘starting point’, a regular column which aims to encourage readers to start to think about current issues in the media from a Christian point of view.

The aims of the magazine are:

> To value the Bible as God’s inspired Word to us and the ultimate authority on matters of faith and practice, through thinking hard about how the Bible applies to our everyday lives.

> To encourage women to grow in godliness and maturity in Christ.

> To equip Christian women to be creative, confident and effective in communicating the gospel.

> To give women in a variety of roles and situations the forum to think about contemporary issues from a framework of Biblical theology and to articulate their thinking in a manner that stimulates themselves and others to live lives that are more faithful to God’s Word.
