Rules for the Dairy Doe of the Year Competition.

THE RULES
The competition is open to all Victorian owned does who have gained a Q* or recorded R105 minimum.
The competition year shall be from 1st July to 30th June.
Points may be obtained at any show held in Victoria or interstate under any qualified judge.
All Show Results are to be with the competition administrator by 31st October.
Milk award points are to be gained in the relevant season, Q* awards by 30th June or before, Herd Recording to be commenced in the year of the show season or before and claimed by 31st October to be presented on or before the November DGSA Vic Branch Committee meeting.
A trophy will be awarded to the doe who has obtained the highest number of points and also to the does reaching the first 3 placings in each of the 6 breeds.
PRESENTATIONS
Presentations will be made at a date and venue to be announced following the completion of the competition.
POINTS SYSTEM
Breed/Age Classes - First 5 points, Second 3 points, Third 1 point
Best Vessel Classes - First 5
points, Second 3 points, Third 1 point
These points apply for both classes, ie. 1st Lactation does and 2nd
& subsequent Lactation does
Type & Production Q* - First
5 points, Second 3 points, Third 1 point
These points apply for both classes, ie. 1st Lactation does and 2nd
& subsequent Lactation does
Type & Production Herd Recording - First 5 points, Second 3 points, Third 1 point
Breed Champion - 5 points
Reserve Breed Champion - 3 points
Best Exhibit - 5 points
Maximum attainable points per show - 30 points
Total points will be calculated from the top 7 shows for each goat.
