In Melbourne between September 11th and 13th, business and political leaders from the Asia Pacific region will be in Melbourne for the World Economic Forum (WEF) Regional Meeting. The WEF is a corporate think tank comprised of the politicians and CEOs and other executives of the richest 1000 companies in the world. The WEF has been instrumental in pushing the free trade and globalisation agenda. This path is resulting in a growing gap between rich and poor, social tensions and environmental disasters.
Ensuring a more equitable spread of the benefits of globalisation is one of the most important development challenges facing human kind. On September 10, you will have a chance to hear and support other voices and other values working towards a more economically equitable, environmentally sustainable and culturally embracing vision of global development.
