I am a "young" mom. I am 22 and have a 5 month old who was born at 36 weeks but with problems. I had a "hard" pregnancy for someone so young and realitively healthy. I started preterm labor on Christmas eve and was able to make it all the way to March 13 so I thought I was out of the woods. I wish now that I had asked more questions as no one discussed anything relating to the baby's health. One of the other moms in the NICU had a baby at 30 weeks (she thinks) and she was 23. She was also admitted to the hospital on Christmas eve in the triage next to me and she had zero prenatal care and smoked. The nurse got on to her and said she might lose the baby or deliver premature...go figure her little girl was right next to Bekah (born a week earlier and weighed 2 pounds) I was shocked...it is not often you see something like that. Just wanted you to know you were not alone in this!!
