Bridget (23 weeker) was 565 gms at birth and
dropped to 440 gms. It took Bridget 13 weeks
to reach 1000 grams and continued to be slow,
but once she came home, off she went. Bridget
now puts weight on very well, an average of 300
gms per month, the little fatty. Bridget would
gain 20 grams one day and then lose 40 gms the
next, then we would gain 10 gms per day for a while and then back to losing it. I don't think
there is a correct guide for preemie weight, just
as long as they are getting somewhere otherwise.
