We had the rash that would not go away once (also along with diarrhea) and a friend suggested Maalox. I scoffed, but checked with our nurse, who said it was an old remedy that went out of favor with all the new ointments and it could not hurt. IT WORKED. I figure it was the acid that was hurting Jenna's skin and the Maalox is an antacid type of product.
It is cheap and very easy to swab on and does not leave a greasy residue.
It has not worked on all rashes, ours are usually yeast.
