What is a mentor?

A person who has the experience or expertise to assist others who are less experienced; an advisor; a tutor

We understand how hard it can be to face some of life’s challenges, like finishing your studies, coming into a new community, trying to make new friends or finding a job.

If you need:

Advice on further study or looking for work .Help in developing a skill, talent or interest

Support while you settle into the local community, A ‘friendly face’ who can answer your questions about living in Australia

Practical help in everyday activities, like learning English, doing your homework or using public transport

Then:

Join the Flemington Kensington Mentoring Program, for one-to-one support from a member of the local community

Mentors are volunteers who are offering to spend time with you to offer support

You say what help you need from your mentor and choose what time suits to meet with them

It is an informal program where someone helps with passing on knowledge or skills to adjust to life in our community
