The Diamond Valley Singers web site is undergoing some serious rewriting.
While you are waiting, you can either access the old web site, or check out the current information below:
Diamond Valley Singers conducted two concerts in Diamond Creek and Warrandyte which raised about $2660 for bushfire relief. A third concert was held in Geelong in conjunction with Western Heights Uniting Church, which raised about $1795 in addition to more than $2500 already raised by the church.
We would like to thank everybody involved -- the organisers, the performers and specially those who came and listened and opened their wallets.
In addition, Freda and Will Marshall donated a voucher for a holiday at Alvina Holiday Cottages on Phillip Island. This was raffled, with the raffle drawn by Lynne Counsel on Wednesday March 11th. The winner was Liz Armstrong. This raised another $303.
A smaller audience than usual for our annual cabaret (perhaps due to the bushfire concerts the week before), but we all enjoyed ourselves,
Our main project for 2009 is Carousel. This will again be held at Warrandyte High School from July 3rd to 11th (during the July school holidays).
For those who didn't wish to undertake Carousel another choral program was held. We hope to do this again next year.
We will be performing this show at Warrandyte (October 16-24) and possibly at Geelong (October 25). Auditions will be held on July 17 and 19. Enquiries should be directed to Graham Ford.
Rehearsals will be on Friday nights.
As a sneak preview, we are planning a Gilbert and Sullivan show for July 2010. Watch this space for more information.
Unless otherwise notified, rehearsals for all activities will be held at 8.00 p.m. on Wednesday nights, at the Diamond Creek Uniting Church, corner Wensley Street and Main Hurstbridge Road.
Any enquiries, including bookings for auditions, can be made to Graham Ford, 9439-3267.
