School Camps
Due to our geographical location, Brucknell Park is an ideal place for a totally on-campus school camp with our own unique on-site facilities & activities or as a school camp base from which to explore the Shipwreck Coast Region and the South Western District of Victoria.

Learning Experiences
There is vast educational value for students to live inside a natural bushland forest. It's a very rewarding experience, particularly for those from an urban background, to intermingle with natural flora and fauna. Local onsite activities are designed to be lots of fun within the safe natural environment.

Within an hours drive of Brucknell Park is a wealth of resources just waiting to give school camp groups some very rich learning experiences. These may include, for example, Tower Hill - the State's most spectacular Extinct Volcano - now a nature reserve, or the Allansford Cheese Museum, Whale Watching (in season), Large (free) Adventure Playground at Lake Pertobe in Warrnambool City, etc etc.

The Value of Outdoor Education page
of this website contains interesting information about the positive human values of sound outdoor education. It also contains a list of famous people whose lives have obviously benefited enormously from similar outdoor educational experiences.

A Social Evening
A campfire is an option (in non fire danger periods) by our qualified activity leaders who can conduct an evening campfire meal and get together for your students in safe and pleasant surroundings.

Art, Literature & Folklore
Our Cub Jungle, where hand crafted sculptures of some of the characters from Rudyard Kipling's "Jungle Book" can be seen in a jungle setting. This can dovetail nicely together with literary studies of the book before your school camp. Kipling's Jungle book and his 2nd Jungle Book are available on our website for your use, together with a list of Jungle Names.

Social Values & Team Development

Brucknell Park provides an away from home experience, which is an important part of any child's personal, social and emotional development.

The day to day routine of Brucknell Park encourages co-operation and individual responsibility. As part of a learning experience in these values and in team-work, a rotating roster of student groups attends to several tasks each day. Courtesy, consideration for others and reasonable behaviour are expected from everyone.

Fully catered meals are available in the Coleman Hall dining room, while barbecues or cut lunches can be provided for excursions. Visiting schools usually adopt our standard weekly menu, but may choose to self cater.
