Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome

Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome (WHS), also known as Wolf Syndrome along with Pitt Rogers Danks Syndrome (PRDS), are both rare chromosomal disorders caused by a deletion from the short (p) arm of the fourth chromosome known as 4 p minus (4p-)

Support Group

Established in 1996, the Australian Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome Support Group is a voluntary not-for-profit self-help organisation dedicated to educating parents about Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome and networking them with other parents of affected children. We currently are in contact with over 30 families from all over Australia and New Zealand

Our Mission

• To offer contact and a support network for families of children diagnosed with Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome (4p- Syndrome)
  
  
• To distribute a regular Newsletter and information leaflets.
  
  
• To establish and distribute a contact list, for families with 4p-.
  
  
• To increase community awareness of WHS and other genetic disorders which impact on Australian families.
  
  
• To be included on all genetic registries in Australia so newly diagnosed families can be advised of our existence.
  
  
• To host informal conferences giving all the families an opportunity to meet and exchange information.
