Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives Young Gay and Proud; Homosexuality Be In it
Australian Homosexual Histories Conference 8

University of Melbourne, weekend 12-13 July 2008

Over the past several years the Australian Homosexual Histories Conference Series has generated pioneering and innovative work on the histories of GLBTIQ identity and culture in Australia. The series brings together members of the GLBTIQ community, as well as professional scholars, researchers and students within the broad field of sexuality and gender studies.

The latest instalment of this conference series, organised by the Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives and its friends, will be held at the University of Melbourne on the weekend of 12-13 July 2008. We are especially interested in papers with an historical perspective, although sociological, discursive, legal and cultural approaches are also welcome. We welcome papers from academics, independent scholars and community-based historians and researchers.

The conveners envisage that select papers will be published at the conference's conclusion.

Abstracts, along with questions or queries, should be addressed to the conveners
