ADHS PHOTO INDEX
AVOCA AND DISTRICT HISTORICAL SOCIETY
To establish if there is a photo associated with a name in which you are interested, do a find-in-page search at the photo index webpage. Note the ADHS reference number (e.g. adhs~231) and go to the separate webpage identified at the top of the block of photos in which yours is located, to view a thumbnail version of the photograph in the ADHS archives. The computer-generated index has been sorted in a non-sequential manner and hence photo adhs~11 will be found between adhs~109 and adhs~110. You might even have to hunt around a little.
We are indebted to ADHS member Murray Little of Melbourne for the scanning of our photo collection onto CDs for long-term preservation and wider access. If you have an album or collection of Avoca and district-relevant photos which could be scanned into the collection please discuss the matter with the Society.
